Hi my name is Rio and I am a rather handsome 5-year-old blue and gold Macaw.

I am looking for a new home because my mum isn’t very well and she feels that I deserve more attention than she can give me. It makes me very sad when my Mum is ill, because I know something is wrong.

My mum says that I am a dream bird, and I’m very well behaved. I love to play and roll on back and have belly rubs and swing upside down from hands. I love to show off, especially to children, and if they sing to me, I will dance along. I prefer women, love children and can tolerate men.

I love my toys and tend to go through quite a few - but as they say a busy beak is a happy beak.

I am a chatty bird, with quite a large vocabulary. If the household is noisy, I may tell you all to shut up. Because I’ve got a loud voice my mum taught me to whisper. I also try and whistle which everyone finds hilarious.

I am a high energy youngster and I need someone who can entertain me and keep me happy. But in return I will give you tons of love and devotion.  I’m in perfect feather and will come with everything I need. So please apply for me if you can commit to making me a part of your family.
