Flo
Flo
Hello, my name is Flo and I am a 22-year-old Orange Winged Amazon. I am looking for a forever home with a lady who has lots of time for me. I don’t mind being in my cage for a few hours during the day and will happily greet you with a whistle and a hello when you come home. I don’t like other birds and have been known to attack them in the past, so I would need to be the only bird in the house. I haven’t encountered any furry friends or children yet so I am unsure if I would like them.
I am fully blind in my right eye due to a trauma I sustained in the past. I have been recently checked by an avian vet who has assured my safehouse mum that my eye is healed and I am in no pain. However, when you approach me, please make sure I can see you out of my good eye otherwise I will get a fright and may try to bite you. I am scared of hands and I won’t step up, however I enjoy sitting either inside or on top of my cage or on my play stand and will happily keep you company this way. Once I am used to you, I might accept a head scratch through the cage bars. I will usually go back inside my cage independently, however sometimes I need to be coaxed back in with some food.
I am a good eater and haven’t discovered anything I don’t like yet! My favourites are fresh fruit, cooked veg, Tidymix, pulses and toast as a treat. I love food and will sometimes shout to be fed; however, I tend to settle myself down with no problem – I am an Amazon after all!
I come with my own cage, carrier, blanket and toys – so I am good to go! If you think I am the bird for you and you can provide me with a forever home with lots of love, time and food then please apply – I will be waiting to hear from you.
Thank you so much for agreeing to sponsor me! I just need a few details from you.
Thank you so much for your interest in fostering me!
