Hi, my name is Stanley and I am a very handsome 9-year-old Blue and Gold Macaw. I'm missing a few feathers on my chest and legs, but who needs feathers? I still think I am very handsome - well my safe house Mum tells me I am all the time, and who am I to disagree?

It's now time for me to look for my forever home. I did not have a good start in the beginning, but since I've been with my safe house family, I have come on leaps and bounds. I love to be out of my cage and interact with my safe house Mum and Dad. I am very playful and like to sit on the settee with my safe house Mum and turn myself upside down so she can tickle my tummy. I also like to hold onto her finger with one leg so she can swing me back and forth! It's great fun! It makes me laugh and my safe house Mum too.

I like being in my cage and I don't mind if you put your hand in - I am not cage-aggressive at all. I like you to open the top of my cage so that I can put myself up there, then I will step up. I like to play with my toys and my favourite thing in my cage is my swing - I like to swing myself. When it is time to go to bed, you can take me off my stand or off the settee and I will go into my cage nicely.

My safe house Mum said I'm a good flyer. I do like to fly from my stand to my cage, to the settee and to my safe house Dad. I am a pretty good talker. I do like to say WHAT?? all the time to make my safe house Mum laugh. I will also blow you a kiss, which is something I have just learned. I will tell you that I am a good boy and I also shout 'Mother!' which my safe house Dad thinks is funny.

I will eat pretty much anything! I love bananas, grapes and walnuts in their shells - they are my favourite.

I live with three dogs, but we do not mix fur and feathers to keep everyone safe. I don't mind the dogs - I've even learned one of their names and like to shout for him.

I'm not good with a lot of people around - it tends to frighten me and I will scream. I am not good with small children - I don't know what it is about them but I really don't like them. I need a quiet home without too many people, and without children. I hope that you will read this and feel that you can offer me a forever home. Keeping my feathers crossed!
