Description

Hello! My name is Charlie and I’m a very pretty Congo African Grey looking for a loving home with a confident male owner.

I currently keep my age a secret–something for me to know and you to never find out, hehe! My wish is for a forever home with people who will love me lots, especially a man. I’m a bit of a nervous boy and I need someone confident with handling birds so that I can grow and develop. If you’re a man and confident, I will step up for you. I’m not suitable for a household with young children.

I don’t think I’ll ever like cuddles, but I may start to get more comfortable and trusting as time goes on. If I’m scared or uncertain you might hear me growl. That’s my way of letting you know that you should back off. I don’t want to bite, which is why I like to give people fair warning if I’m worried about something. One of my favourite things is a good spray bath. I love nothing better than a good misting! I’m also a pretty adventurous eater. I’lll try most fruit and veg though I always chuck out banana for some reason. I’ve got a few toys and I especially like my bell. I don’t fly much at the moment. My safehouse dad thinks I may have been clipped in the past so I haven’t had the practice I need to become a great flyer. I like to get around by walking along the ground. If you don’t watch me there’s a good chance I might find something to chew on. You’ll want to keep your slippers on around the house because I do have a habit of trying to chase feet. Especially if they’re attached to a human who’s trying to stop me from chewing! I may be shy, but I’m still quite a feisty fellow. I’m fine with dogs around me, but you’ll have to keep a very close eye on the situation, as I’ve been known to try and land on them. Not good!

I currently live with quite a few other birds and I find this a little intimidating. It would be ideal if I could be someplace with maybe just one or two other birds around. That way I can get more of the one on one attention I need to learn and develop into the wonderful companion I know I can be. I come with my own cage, which I’d like to keep, please. My original owners had to give me up because of health problems and all I really want is to settle down into a new forever home and start my new life. If you have the confidence and patience to bring me out of my shell, I’d love to meet you! I know you won’t be disappointed!
