Hi my name is Rosie and I am a very beautiful female Eclectus, yes beautiful that's what my mummy calls me. She says I am a gorgeous birdie who likes to sit on people's shoulders and hang out, whilst snuggling into your neck. I particularly like making myself at home in long hair.

Eclectus parrots originate from the Solomon Islands in Australasia. They are one of the few sexually dimorphic parrot species – with the males having green plumage and the females red, Rosie is a very sweet girl and enjoys nothing better than hanging out with her favourite human, 16-year-old Ella, and best parrot buddy – an Alexandrian Parakeet called Lottie.

Why Rosie needs your help

My human’s and I are looking for a little bit of help with some of my vets’ bills. You see I have what the vet calls scissor beak and I need to visit him every six weeks or so. He gives me some magic gas that makes me sleepy so he can trim it. My beak gets very long very quickly and does not meet where it should. So, the vet works his magic and I can eat better again for a few weeks. Sometimes my mummy has to make mushy food and hand feed me, which I don’t mind but, I’d like to get on and feed myself like my other feathered friends.
