When you agree to foster one of the Birdline birds, we ask you to promise to take your bird to an appropriately qualified avian vet. This is because general vets do not usually receive adequate training to provide more than emergency care and don’t have extensive experience of handling birds. This has in some cases caused injury and death to our birds, so you will understand that this issue is extremely important to us.
Not all vets at the practices listed below will have post-graduate exotics qualifications. When you make an appointment please make sure you see the correct avian vet.
If you would like to suggest a veterinary practice to add to our list, or to inform us that an avian vet has left a practice, please contact us.
If you are a Birdline member, you must take out an insurance policy to cover your bird’s medical care. We have a special policy with Exotics Direct, and British Pet Insurance offers Birdline members a discount.
