Georgie
Hello! My name is Georgie, and I'm a Citron-Crested Cockatoo crossed with a Galah.
I’m still young—though I’m not exactly sure of my age—but I’ve got plenty of energy and curiosity to share with the right family.
Unlike some of my cockatoo cousins, I’m not overly loud or messy. I like to start and end my day with a little chat, and if you’ve got the radio playing, even better—I love to dance! I’m not much of a singer, so you won’t hear me being noisy all day, but if I need your attention, I’ll let you know.
I’m currently living with my safehouse parents who are helping me settle in and learn all about routines, which I really enjoy. I’d love a forever family who’s happy to learn how I like to live—because I promise, I’ll return that effort with love, fun, and companionship.
I get along well with males, and I’m very comfortable being around people. I’m not cage-defensive, which means I’m happy to let you into my space. You can reach in, change my food, or offer me a treat—I don’t mind at all. Speaking of treats, my absolute favourite is cashew nuts! Offer me one, and we’ll be best friends in no time.
I do enjoy flying every now and then, and I’m happy to play with my toys—wooden blocks, big ropes, and plastic cups are my top picks. I play happily both in and out of my cage, but because I’m so inquisitive, I should be supervised when I’m out and about. I like to be part of whatever’s going on, whether I’m watching from my cage or perched nearby.
I don't mind sharing a home with cats and dogs; although I don't interact with them as it's not safe to mix feathers and fur.
Sometimes, if I feel overwhelmed or unsure, I might give a little bite—but it’s rare, and I’m just letting you know I need a moment. I’m generally very easygoing and affectionate. I’d probably suit a couple or a family with older children who can give me both space and engagement.
I have no known health issues, and I’ve been thriving in my safehouse. One of my favourite things is walking around the house on your shoulder and I'm confident when it comes to step on to your hand—I just love being near you.
If it sounds like I could be a part of your family, I’d love the chance to meet you. I’m really looking forward to finding my forever home, where I can share all the love, laughter, and little dances I have to offer.
Thank you so much for agreeing to sponsor me! I just need a few details from you.
Thank you so much for your interest in fostering me!
