Hi everyone my name is Shorty and I am a 2 year old Pacific Parrotlet. I came to my safehouse mum 3 months ago after being returned to birdline through no fault of my own. Don't be fooled by my size, us parrotlets are little birds with huge personalities.

Although I am not hand tame I really really like human interaction and my safehouse mum thinks it would be quite easy to tame me in the right home. I blow kisses and say "good boy" and I love it if you say it back to me and blow kisses to me too.

I love flying around my cage and sitting on my swings but my favourite thing to play with are toys with bells on. My favourite food is chop made with lots of fresh veggies but I do eat seed mix as well.

I have lived with other parrots in the past, and like to hang out with them and sit on their cages. But, I discovered that not every other bird likes this and they can be cage territorial: I’m only tiny, so this could be dangerous for me. I can also get a bit jealous when my humans interact with other birds and so I must be supervised when with other birds and separated from bigger birdies.

I’m very easy going and would be happy with either a quiet or busy house, as long as I get a lot of human interaction when the fosterer is at home.
